Vuosi vuodelta -projektin toinen vuosi. Siinä missä 1969 proge oli vielä varsin alkutekijöissään on nupullaan oleva genre jo 1970 huomattavasti vakiintuneemman oloinen. Hieman nolosti joudun julkaisemaan listan jossa sekä King Crimsonilla ja VdGG:llä on kaksi levyä, mutta kun ne vaan ovat niin pirun hyviä! Genesis ja Caravan pääsevät kunnolla vauhtiin toisilla levyillään ja estradille on myös saapunut hienolla debyytillään yksi genren merkittävimmistä yhtyeistä eli progen ensimmäinen supergroup Emerson Lake & Palmer. Jazz-puolta edustaa tällä kertaa kaksi levyä joista Bitches Brew etenkään ei kyllä varmasti montaa jazz-puristia ainakaan ilmestyessään miellyttänyt. Myös listalla toisen kerran esiintyvä Soft Machine on hienolla kolmoslevyllään (jossa valitettavasti on surullisen paskat soundit) siirtynyt jos ei jazzin niin ainakin jazz-rockin suuntaan.
