U.S. History
The first day of school for the 4th grade class brings a new student, Sanyo,
the son of a Japanese businessman. The teacher says, "Let´s begin by
reviewing some American history. Who said ´Give me Liberty, or give me
death?´"
She sees a sea of blank faces, except for the smiling face of Sanyo, who has
his hand up.
"Patrick Henry, 1775," Sanyo says.
"Very good!", says the teacher. "Who said ´Government of the people, by the
people, for the people shall not perish from the earth´"?
Again, no response, except from Sanyo,
who says: "Abraham Lincoln, 1863."
"Very good!" The teacher snaps: "Class, you should be
ashamed. Sanyo, who is new to our country, knows more about our history
than you do."
She hears a loud whisper: "F-----g Japanese."
"Who said that?" she demands.
Sanyo immediately puts his hand up. "Lee Iacocca, 1982."
At that point, a student in the back sighs: "I´m gonna
puke!"
The teacher glares and asks: "All right! Now who said
that?" Again, Sanyo says "George Bush to Japanese Prime
Minister, 1991."
Now furious, another student yells, "Oh yeah! Suck this!"
Sanyo jumps out of his chair waving his hand and shouts to the teacher:
"Bill Clinton, to Monica Lewinsky, 1997."
